Sword and Bored

Our strange surge of updates continues marginally abated!  Losing huge chunks of recording will not stop us!  On this bout we talk about the awful SEVENTH SON and how completely unmemorable it is, the ups and downs of BEASTMASTER and reminisce about a childhood friend, we stop to talk for a long time about The Synder Cut, and Lars' stops to think about how good THE THIRTEENTH WARRIOR is!

Bored. James Bored. is back with YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE, a movie featuring a gigantic Romulan, possibly Q's coolest gadget ever, and massive amounts of problematic stuff in a surprisingly good movie! 
 
On a personal note, this has been a very tough year on me, and us, so we really appreciate anyone who's stuck around for all of the ups and downs.  Thank You.

Hey guess what, we've got another project going!  This is a bit different from our usual fare, this is a commentary track I recorded with my best friend Matt, meant to be played along with Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace!
 
This will be a longform retrospective of each theatrical release Star Wars film, from the two of us reminiscing about how we became friends because of Star Wars, how it's affected us, the way the movies are made and work, bits we like and don't like...the works.

And we're back to our usual standard of terrible films with 1967's CASINO ROYALE!  We talk about the very, very few high points, how people got paid to be in it, the missed opportunities of multiple Bonds and how that could have affected the rest of the series, and what makes better parodies work!

THE DEAD SPEAK!  We are back after too long a hiatus, talking about maybe our most solid slate of movies ever!  We go back to the House of Mouse for our three!  We once again talk about ALADDIN...the animated classic this time, how Robin Williams was a genius, how SLEEPING BEAUTY defines and determines the formula for Princess movies, and how ROBIN HOOD is easily the best Robin Hood movie for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is he's actually Robin Hood in it!

Hello and happy new year!  After an extended hiatus we are back with GOLDFINGER, my favorite Bond movie. We discuss how it's the one everyone thinks of as Bond, how it sets the stage for most every piece of Bond media afterwards and how we have a Formula finally, interesting tidbits about actors and inspiration, and dance around who Goldfinger himself reminds us of!

To close out 2020, we talk about the surprisingly good DAWN OF THE DRAGON SLAYER, the absolutely atrocious ERAGON and how it's more or less STAR WARS, and the still fantastic, heavily dwarven REIGN OF FIRE!

James Bond is Back! This time around we are talking about the classic FROM RUSSIA, WITH LOVE, considered by two thirds of the hosts to be the best Bond!  We gush about the late Sir Sean Connery, talk about his career and his one character that he made work in every movie, about how Bond is starting to take shape and how we have almost all the pieces of what makes a Bond movie!
